Melissa has published several articles relating to the national nursing shortage, strategies for providing feedback to orientees, dietary supplement regulation, and resume writing for nurses.
Melissa has spoken at a national staff development conference on the subject of nurse preceptor training and presented posters on preceptor training and the restructuring of a hospital-based nursing education department. She was an invited speaker at the annual Health Professions and Nursing Education Coalition Capitol Hill Day.
Melissa is a member of a number of professional and advocacy organizations, including the ANA, NHNHA, NH Healthy Climate, and the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators.
She serves on the New Hampshire Nurses Association's Commission for Planetary Health and recently completed Climate for Health's Climate Ambassador training.
