Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
Each January, the College offers a series of lectures, films, exhibits, and other events to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to serve as a call to action. The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Dinner kicks off the celebration. Recipients of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Social Justice Award will be honored at the Dinner.
Transitions Pre-Orientation Program
Ensuring that students are retained and graduate is a major goal of the Multicultural Center. The Transitions Program is offered every fall for new students who would like to get acquainted with campus before the bustle of Freshman Move-In Day. Transitions is a free program that was designed to strengthen the academic, social and cultural experiences of first-year students. It is particularly relevant for students from traditionally underrepresented (commuter, first-generation, & multicultural) groups but students from ALL backgrounds are encouraged to participate. This program compliments the College's New Student Orientation Program by presenting students with a preview of campus life. Participants will spend three days on campus before New Student Orientation connecting with student leaders, getting familiar with campus resources and services, and learning strategies to successfully transition from high school to college. They will be provided an opportunity to network with fellow Saint Anselm students, faculty, staff and alumni. Beyond the first week of the program (throughout the year), Transitions aims to provide a welcoming and supportive community for students. Activities and resources with an emphasis on academic readiness, campus support, and social/cultural enrichment will be provided. Participants will be paired with a mentor who they will meet with monthly.
Multicultural Day
Do you have a family recipe or talent that you want to share? Multicultural Day is a cultural celebration that highlights the diversity within the Saint Anselm community. It features food, activities, and entertainment from around the world.
Celebration of Light: Intercultural Holiday Dinner
Each year in December, millions of people around the world celebrate the holidays. The Intercultural Holiday Dinner allows you to share your family traditions and learn more about the holidays of different cultures.
Preserving Unity Within Ourselves Retreat
The Unity Retreat is a student - driven initiative that brings together a diverse group of students, representing difference races, ethnicities, languages, political beliefs, socioeconomic statuses, religious beliefs and sexual orientation to promote unity. Students will have the opportunity to share their own stories and experiences, showcase their leadership skills and participate in community building exercises.
True Life
"TRUE LIFE" is a series of informal discussions about different social issues that are facilitated by current students. You are invited to listen, learn, and ask questions.
Salsa Madness
Salsa Madness is held every year to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. A cooking demonstration highlights the steps to making delicious, authentic salsa. Free salsa and chips are provided for everyone. Then you are invited to burn off those calories and show off your skills with Latin dance lessons.
Commuter Appreciation Week
The Multicultural Center is responsible for providing support services and effective communication to commuter students to facilitate their success and connection to the Saint Anselm Community. Commuter Student Appreciation Week demonstrates the significance of commuter students to the Saint Anselm community through a week-long series of events and programs that are designed to bring awareness to commuter student issues, while also connecting commuter students with campus life.
Women's History Month
Women's History Month highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. The month features a variety of panels, lectures, socials, and community activities and events. All are welcome to come and celebrate the achievements and progress of women.
Hispanic Heritage Month
