The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) serves as the chief academic officer of the college and provides leadership and oversight of the college’s academic mission and strategic plan.

The VPAA works alongside a highly talented and passionate faculty to ensure that academic affairs plays a central role in recruiting, retaining, and serving students at the College.

Overview

The VPAA works collaboratively with the president, other members of the leadership team, faculty, and staff to ensure that academic affairs plays a central role in recruiting, retaining, and serving students at the College.  The VPAA directly oversees the centers and departments that support and enhance academic programming: Academic DeanCareer Development Center, Center for Ethics in Society, Geisel Library, Gregory J. Grappone Humanities Institute,Institute for Saint Anselm Studies, and Meelia Center for Community Engagement. In partnership with the academic deans, the VPAA is responsible for the curriculum, co-curricular experiences, and academic support services that enable students to succeed and earn a Saint Anselm College degree.

Dr. Sheila Adamus Liotta currently serves as the VPAA. Support of the liberal arts is a major component of Dr. Liotta’s approach to leadership. She also prioritizes issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.  Prior to joining Saint Anselm College, she served as the dean of the ​School of Arts & Sciences, chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and faculty member at Providence College.
