I have been a member of the Computer Science Department here at Saint Anselm College since Fall 1998 and Department Chair since 2015. I completed my undergraduate studies in Ireland and then taught in Ireland, France and Malta prior to coming to the U.S.A. for graduate studies. While a graduate student at UMass Lowell I taught some introductory undergraduate courses.
My research interests include human computer interaction, end-user programming, programming-by-demonstration, and Geographic Information Systems.
My recent courses include: Discrete Mathematics I and II, Database Management, Computer Forensics, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Applications, A Computational Approach to Business and Scientific Data. I have also supervised independent studies on virtual worlds.
I am interested in reaching out to other departments to see how we can integrate computer science into their academic disciplines using computational techniques. I have worked with Criminal Justice on Computer Forensics, Psychology and Fine Arts in developing the minor in Web Design, and am excited about a new course in Geographic Information Systems developed with a colleague from the Biology Department.
