Research
You’ll find all kinds of learning opportunities to conduct research whether as an assistant, on your own, or through a paid grant. Faculty work closely with students to ensure they have opportunities beyond coursework. Extra time in our labs provides our students with hands-on experiences and publishing opportunities so our students are coauthors and conference presenters right alongside their professors.
Pre-professional Programs
If you know for certain you want to continue your education after graduation in a healthcare masters or doctoral program then you can find support through our pre-professionals program. An advisor can guide you through the process while our variety of courses check-off requirements and prepare you for the next step.
We offer courses that prepare you for graduate study in medicine (allopathic, osteopathic, and podiatric), dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant and any other allied health profession. The Chief Health Professions Advisor can help you prepare for this career choice.

Healthcare Abroad
Interested in global healthcare or a different perspective on patient care? We offer opportunities for our students to grow as educated citizens and caregivers through international opportunities such as global seminars which are courses with a study abroad component for a week or more. A popular course, Community and Public Health Nursing includes a week-long international clinical where in the past nursing students gathered data and setup and ran health clinics in Costa Rica.
