The Art of Debriefing is Module 2 of 4 towards the Healthcare Simulation Educator Certificate

This is a 4 week course that runs from April 16 - May 14, with a synchronous online day on April 16 from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Our innovative online certificate program is designed to explore the various components necessary to develop and run simulation scenarios within an academic or clinical setting.
 

Target Audience:

• Any nurse practicing in an education role who is interested in developing or working in a simulation program. This would be applicable to nurse educators in academia or healthcare facilities, preceptors, mentors, or staff nurses who are interested in learning more about this teaching pedagogy.
   
• Each module will earn 15 Nursing Contact Hours. Each module can be taken individually. In order to receive the certificate (60 contact hours), all 4 modules must be completed.
   
• Each module begins with one virtual live webinar from 08:30am- 4:00pm. The remainder of the program is completed online asynchronously.

Module 3: Designing and Implementing Simulation Scenarios

October 1, 8:30 am-4:00 pm as virtual live webinar; remainder of program online. Topics include: nursing education simulation framework, incorporating roles of facilitator and participant, educational practices, simulation outcomes and design characteristics
 

NOVEMBER 5-DECEMBER 2, 2025

Module 4: Trends in Healthcare and Use of Simulation to Impact Patient Outcomes

Reagan: His Life and Legend

Join Max Boot, historian and author of Reagan: His Life and Legend, for a discussion on Ronald Reagan's life and his impact on U.S. foreign policy, moderated by Drew Cline, president of the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy. Boot's book has been praised as the "definitive biography" by The New Yorker.

About the author:

Max Boot is a historian, best-selling author, and foreign-policy analyst. He is the Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a columnist for The Washington Post. His latest book, Reagan: His Life and Legend, was a New York Times bestseller and named one of the Ten Best Books of 2024. Boot has also written The Road Not Taken, The Corrosion of Conservatism, and Invisible Armies. About the moderator:

Drew Cline is president of the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy in New Hampshire. Previously, he was editorial page editor of the New Hampshire Union Leader. Cline has written for over 100 publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, National Review, and The Washington Post.
