Bean Distinguished Lecture Series - Scientific Investigation of Art: Seeing Objects in a New Light

Dr. Richard Hark, a conservation scientist at Yale's Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, will discuss how our appreciation of a work of art is highly influenced by the lens through which we view it.  Using examples drawn from the collections at Yale and the Victoria and Albert Museum, his presentation will describe the analytical tools that were used to coax objects into revealing their secrets.

The Center for Intercultural Learning and Inclusion will be sponsoring a retreat on the weekend of February 9th and 10th. This free and open-to-everyone event is for anyone interested in creating a positive and inclusive campus community to assist students in finding connections within the campus and amongst their peers. A group of hardworking student leaders have been working to develop this event to promote unity on campus through activities such as a discussion on how to manage life on campus and in the world as a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) with the overall goal of getting to know your peers better while having fun!

Join SEAL in welcoming the Baltimore Slam Poetry Team to Saint Anselm College! Two-time winners of the International Poetry Slam competition, they now travel the country performing. Using this unique spoken word medium, they encourage conversations about contemporary societal issues.
