Program Outcomes

No matter what your focus of study, the criminal justice program will prepare you for graduate studies or a career in criminal justice. The department faculty has expertise in and experience with fields such as legal studies and criminal defense, victimization, maltreatment and community programming, juvenile detention and services, and conflict mediation. Students will emerge from the program as well-informed graduates prepared for continued, advanced studies in law or graduate school and careers in their respective subfields of interest.

In addition to a rigorous curriculum that places an emphasis on experiential learning and practical application, through faculty mentorship students are also availed the opportunity within the department to participate in an internship program. The program enables students to successfully transition to a profession by learning and applying the knowledge and skills learned and developed in the classroom.
