Why did you choose teaching?

Teaching has always been my dream and passion. Growing up, my teachers were my role models and inspired me to succeed in the best way I can, in all areas of life. I strive to inspire my students to grow in all areas of their lives, even if that means they grow just a little bit every day.

I strive to be a positive role model to students; especially in a world where we desperately need them! Students are our future, and it is of utmost importance that they recognize that somebody believes in them to succeed! As a teacher, I seek to reveal Truth to my students so they may lead successful lives within that Truth, and hopefully, so they may lead others to Truth and virtue.

What was your experience as an undergraduate in the education program?

I greatly value the Education Department at Saint Anselm! As an undergraduate, I was fascinated with learning many teaching philosophies, collaborating with my classmates, and putting my learning into practice. Like my teachers growing up, my Education professors became my role models who challenged me in unique ways. Every day is an opportunity to grow at Saint A's, and the education department does not shy away from this. The education department, along with the core values of Saint Anselm College, help you tap into your highest potential and beyond.

How did the program prepare you?

The education program allowed me to challenge myself by studying in the collegiate classroom and teaching in the elementary classroom. Regardless of the setting, the program taught me to always be reflective of my practice, and hone in on the areas that will need growth. I am reminded to remain patient in my growth as a teacher, and to keep the Anselmian values close to me and into my teaching. I would not be where I am today without the guidance of my professors, classmates, friends, and Saint Anselm community. I am beyond grateful to be a part of this loving and extraordinary community.

What else might you share about your time on campus?

I absolutely loved my time at Saint Anselm. I am beyond grateful to have many years of learning, growth, fun, and transformation!
