HAWORTH, N.J. – The regionally-ranked Saint Anselm College men's golf team concluded play at the Battle at the Beech, hosted by Dominican (N.Y.) College, with a fifth-place finish out of 12 teams.
The event was held at the White Beeches Golf and Country Club on Monday, Mar. 21 and Tuesday, Mar. 22 with 18 holes being played on each day.
Post University captured the event win finishing as team with a score of 620. Bentley University, Assumption University, and American International all tied for second with scores of 634. Saint Anselm finished seven shots back of the second-place trio, finishing the event at 641.
Junior Drew Semons (Danvers, Mass.) led the Hawks on day two, firing a four-over 76 which was tied for the third best round of the day. Semons closed the first event of the spring for the Hawks in a tie for fifth overall.
Junior Lucas Dascoli (Everett, Mass.) carded an eight-over 80 on day, finishing the event with a combined score of 154, which put him in fourth overall.
Sophomore Robbie Forti (Peabody, Mass.) and freshman Michael Papamechail (Danvers, Mass.) improved upon their day one scores with each finishing at 81 on day two. Forti closed the event in a tie for 36th while Papamechail was tied for 47th. Senior Eddie Morin (East Longmeadow, Mass.) added an 86 for the Hawks scoring which was good for a share of 49th for the tournament.
Competing as an individual, senior Peter Hudner (Canton, Mass.) carded an 84 to bring his two-day total to 172 which tied him with Morin for 49th. Among the other individuals in the field, Hudner finished in the third for the event.
The Hawks are back in action on Sunday, Apr. 10 and Monday, Apr. 11 from the 2022 NCAA East/Atlantic Regional Showcase, hosted by Le Moyne College from the Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, N.Y.
