Two Saint Anselm students and one professor were named AmplifiHER honorees by the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation. The gala was held virtually on May 5, 2021 to celebrate the women and girls who supported others throughout the pandemic.
Recent 2021 graduates Hannah Beaudry and Meagan Dubois as well as Psychology Professor Loretta Brady were honored for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.
Meagan Dubois, a social work major, completed her practicum placement at West High School in Manchester, N.H. Dubois partnered with Hannah Beaudry, an English and philosophy major, and Saint Anselm College’s Center for Ethics to facilitate a college clothing and food drive to support Manchester West’s pantry. Items were donated by faculty, students, staff, and the surrounding community. The drive collected so many items that they distributed to multiple locations throughout Manchester.
“Hannah and Meagan have made significant contributions to our community, both on- and off-campus. The clothing drive is just one of the many ways they have contribute to making our community a better place for youth,” shared Nicole Lora ’06, Meelia Center director. “We have been blessed to have them be part of our community during their college career.”
Professor Loretta Brady ‘99, a psychology professor at Saint Anselm was honored for her efforts to create a holding space to supply mental health support to first responders and the vulnerable of New Hampshire. Professor Brady also worked to rebuild her curriculum to keep her students engaged while learning in a remote environment.
Dean Mark Cronin offered his congratulations by saying, “the college is doubly gladdened and proud of Dr. Brady’s New Hampshire Women’s Foundation AmplifiHer award. On a daily basis, Dr. Brady demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of her students, her colleagues, and her community, and she richly deserves this recognition. We say, “well done!”
