On March 31, seven Saint Anselm College students were inducted into the Omicron Rho chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic honor society.
Saint Anselm College students inducted this 2020-2021 academic year were:
- Katherine Devine ’22, biology and Spanish
- Lauren Kearns ’22, nursing and Spanish
- Kaitlin McCormick ’23, Spanish and secondary education
- Kennedy Merriam ’22, Spanish
- Merrick Bilodeau ’23, nursing and Spanish
- Kylie Fitzpatrick ’22, accounting/natural science and Spanish
- Julie Apitz ’22, biochemistry and Spanish
Students are inducted into the society if they have completed three semesters of courses, maintained a GPA of 3.00 or higher in all Spanish courses taken, and are in the top 35% of their class.
Sigma Delta Pi was founded in 1919 with a mission to honor those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples. Today there are more than 625 chapters in 49 states.
