Four Saint Anselm College alumni are 2021 honorees in the New Hampshire Union Leader's annual “40 Under Forty,” which annually recognizes young New Hampshire citizens for their talent and service to the state.
This year, Patrick L. Cheetham ’03, Joseph Emmons ’04, Megan Prieto Giokas ’04, and Kathryn Horgan ’05 were recognized for their professional and volunteer accomplishments.
Patrick L. Cheetham was recognized for his role as police captain and services division commander for the Londonderry Police Department. As a police officer, Cheetham genuinely enjoys helping others and doing kind acts on and off duty. He has formed a non-profit organization to help families in the newborn intensive care unit at Elliot Hospital. As captain of his department, Cheetham oversees the teams that work on department-wide training, recruitment, building and fleet maintenance, prosecution, professional standards, social media, and records/dispatch. Cheetham earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College in 2003.
Joseph Emmons is the chief development officer for Easterseals New Hampshire, an organization dedicated to changing the way the world defines and views disability. Through exceptional services and creating positive differences in people’s lives every day, Easterseals New Hampshire is a leader in social services and serves more than 26,900 children, adults, and seniors. In his spare time, Emmons volunteers on boards at Saint Benedict Academy and with youth sports and coaching. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Saint Anselm College, Emmons received his Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Megan Prieto Giokas is the president of Granite Commercial Real Estate, LLC. Granite Commercial Real Estate is a leading provider of commercial real estate brokerage, real estate development, warehousing and logistics, and property services. As a New Hampshire Government Relations Chair, Giokas has also advocated for shopping center issues at the federal and state levels. Giokas volunteers at a variety of different community food drives, the New Hampshire food bank, and other opportunities or committees. Giokas received her Bachelor of Arts in Business from Saint Anselm College in 2004.
Kathryn Horgan has been recognized for her roles as an associate at The Dupont Group consulting firm and as executive director of the New Hampshire Association of Counties. The New Hampshire Association of Counties represents the interests of county government in New Hampshire as a state-wide association of elected professionals who run county government in each of the ten counties. As a member of The Dupont Group, Horgan focuses on the General Court, Executive Council, executive branch and regulatory agencies of the state government. Horgan volunteers as an officer on the Manchester Development Corporation Board and received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Anselm College in 2005.
