Students working in a lab

This Giving Tuesday, more than 512 donors raised $128,000 to support initiatives addressing community needs through education, access, and advocacy – the Meelia Center’s Access Academy, students participating in Campus Ministry’s Anselmian B.R.E.A.K. program, scholarships supporting first-generation and underrepresented college students and other scholarships that provide critical financial aid to deserving students.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible generosity during this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign,” said James Flanagan P’23, senior vice president and chief advancement officer. “It will undeniably make a difference in the lives of our students, enabling them to address and serve the needs of our Hilltop home and beyond. It is a privilege and a blessing to be part of the Saint Anselm community and to continue this wonderful tradition.”

Saint Anselm College has been participating in Giving Tuesday, a nationally recognized day of philanthropy, since 2016 where it encourages Anselmians, past and present, to collaborate and give back in impactful ways to the college.

  • Campus Ministry raised funds to support Anselmian B.R.E.A.K., where students learn how to serve their neighbors, put their faith into action, and expand their understanding of justice.
  • The Meelia Center for Community Engagement’sAccess Academy is a program for high school students in the Manchester area who are from backgrounds that are traditionally considered underrepresented in higher education. The students come onto campus, take a variety of classes with our college students, faculty, and staff, earn high school credit, and connect with college mentors.
  • The Rummel Scholarship for Intercultural Leadership and the Ernie Thorne ’34 Scholarship for Racial Equality help students bridge the financial gap to make a Saint Anselm College education a reality.

Saint Anselm College would like to thank the generous donors who provided challenge gifts during the campaign: Daniel ‘81 & Karyn Forbes, Brendan ’09, Maire ’13, and Ian Lynch ’15, Jim Mulcahy P’06, and Shane Smith ’13 and Katharine (Meinertz) Smith ’14.
A special thank you to Javier Videla and the Annual Giving team; the entire College Advancement team; the Office of Campus Ministry; the Meelia Center for Community Engagement; the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and the College Communications and Marketing team.
