College Celebrates Holidays to End the Semester
Celebrating the holidays is a time-honored tradition at Saint Anselm College. From the annual Thanksgiving basket drive to the Christmas feast, Anselmians love to celebrate the season. While a late Thanksgiving will make for a more condensed season, the Hilltop will make sure that it is full of joy.
Decorations are already decking the halls, and the season has kicked off with:
- Celebration of Light: Hosted by the Intercultural Center, students shared a meal featuring food from a wide variety of traditions.
- Thanksgiving Basket Blessing: This beloved annual tradition, organized by Campus Ministry, collected 180 baskets full of food and gift cards for local families to hold a Thanksgiving dinner.
- Annual Holiday Fair: Each year, the Meelia Center for Community Engagement welcomes members of the greater Manchester community onto campus for a free day of festive fun including crafts, sleigh rides, and more.
After Thanksgiving break, the celebrations will kick into high gear with a super Sunday which will include DecemberSong, the blessing of the Nativity in its new location by the Humanities Institute, and the annual Gingerbread House competition.
Other highlights before finals begin will include Party Your Classes Off (PYCO) and the beloved Christmas Feast. The Dana Center for the Performing Arts will be hosting performances of A Christmas Carol and A Cape Breton Christmas.
The full schedule of events is available on the College’s events calendar, and make sure to check out Saint Anselm’s social media accounts for full coverage.
