On Monday, June 20, 2022, alumni and friends gathered at Nashua Country Club for the 30th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament, raising more than $50,000 for scholarships at Saint Anselm.
“Since the first tournament in 1990, the Golf Tournament has raised well over $1,000,000 in scholarship aid due to the incredible generosity of our alumni,” said Dr. Joseph A. Favazza, president of Saint Anselm College. “I am grateful for all of the players and sponsors who have participated and contributed to the success of this important event.”
Thirty-five foursomes competed on a sunny and breezy day using the bramble format, with competition holes spread out on the course. William Furlong, Preston Hunter, Keith Boyle, and Aram Hampoian won the Chancellor’s Cup with the lowest overall score. Matthew Harnish ’13 won the men’s longest drive competition. Robert Savard ’71 won the closest to the pin competition for the men. Meegan Begley Pagliarulo ’94 won both the women’s longest drive and closest to the pin.
Players ended the day with a dinner, silent auction, and raffle. During dinner President Favazza inducted Roger Jean ’70 into the Order of Golden Anselmians.
The tournament was presented by Brown and Brown Insurance Company. Jeff Burke '69 and Mick Flynn '89 chaired the golf tournament committee. Ten members of the Student Alumni Ambassadors volunteered to assist with the raffle and the competition holes throughout the day.
