Haiti Air Ambulance Medical Transport Talk
In Person
Join us for a presentation hosted by alumni Bobby O'Donnell, class of 2016, sharing his work with Haiti Air Ambulance Medical Transport as a critical care flight paramedic.
Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA) is a non-profit organization that provides the only helicopter medical transport in the country. In addition to patient transport HAA is called upon to mobilize resources to these remote areas in times of disease outbreak or natural disaster. Presently, 85% of the capital city, Port-Au-Prince, is under the control of organized gangs displacing 580,000 people. In addition to the gang violence, Haiti faces the constant threat of earthquakes, hurricanes, hunger, poverty, and communicable disease.
Experienced flight paramedics and nurses volunteer with Haiti Air Ambulance including Bobby O’Donnell, Saint Anselm ’16. Bobby is a full time flight paramedic with Boston MedFlight and spent time in November 2023 with HAA. In this presentation, Bobby will describe the current humanitarian crisis in Haiti in a firsthand account of his time flying patients in the country.
