A degree within the arts helps you to develop your creative and intellectual abilities, but it also gives you an understanding of the deeper historical, cultural, and philosophical dimensions of the arts and the essential role of creative and artistic expression and in human identity and experience.

About the Department

The Fine Arts Department at Saint Anselm offers majors in Art History, Studio Art, and Music.  Our courses are enriched by field trips, museum visits, student research projects, musical performances, and artist workshops which encourage hands-on experiential learning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.  Students majoring in any one of our programs are required to pursue immersive learning experiences such as internships, study-abroad, or community-engaged learning, providing them with a truly transformative education.

No matter your area of interest in the arts, the study of visual arts or music within the liberal arts context at Saint Anselm provides you with the practical, technical, and conceptual skills that prepare you for any future career path you may choose.
